Disney+ Fantasy Adaptation Receives Significant Update After 4 Years

Disney+ has some exciting news for fans of fantasy adaptations! The long-awaited adaptation of Christopher Paolini’s Eragon novel is finally making progress, four years after it was first announced. Originally set to be a Disney+ television series with Paolini as the writer and Bert Salke as the executive producer, things seemed to stall after the initial announcement.

However, in February 2025, Paolini provided an update assuring fans that the Eragon series was still in the works. Now, a year later, we have some exciting news – Todd Harthan and Todd Helbing have joined the project as co-showrunners. Harthan will also serve as the co-creator alongside author Christopher Paolini. Additionally, Marc Webb will be on board as an executive producer.
