Disney+ Eragon Live-Action Series Announces Todd Harthan and Todd Helbing as Co-Showrunners
The upcoming Disney+ live-action series “Eragon” has made some exciting announcements regarding its creative team. Todd Harthan and Todd Helbing have been named co-showrunners for the series, alongside author Christopher Paolini. This team will not only write the series but also take on executive producing duties, with Marc Webb joining as an executive producer as well.
The addition of Harthan, Helbing, and Webb to the creative lineup marks a significant step forward for the long-awaited series, which was initially announced back in 2022. Based on the official logline, “Eragon” will follow the story of an ordinary teenager who becomes the first Dragon Rider in over a century, forming a strong bond with his dragon, mastering ancient magic, and challenging the tyrannical king who decimated the Riders.
Harthan, known for his work on ABC’s “High Potential,” brings a wealth of experience as an executive producer on various shows, including Disney+’s “Crossover,” ABC’s “The Company You Keep,” and more. On the other hand, Helbing is recognized for co-creating and showrunning CW’s “Superman & Lois” and being an executive producer on “The Flash.” Additionally, he is in the process of developing “Mech Cadets” for Disney+.
The series is based on the book series “The Inheritance Cycle” by Christopher Paolini, who is heavily involved in the project. Paolini, Harthan, Helbing, and Webb make up a talented team that promises to bring the beloved story to life on screen. With an impressive lineup of creatives behind the scenes, “Eragon” is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the Disney+ streaming platform.
