Eragon Disney Plus Series Announces Co-Showrunners Todd Harthan and Todd Helbing
The live-action “Eragon” TV series on Disney+ just got a major boost. Todd Harthan and Todd Helbing have teamed up as co-showrunners, working alongside “Eragon” author Christopher Paolini, with all three serving as executive producers. Marc Webb and Rachel Moore have also joined the team as executive producers. Additionally, Bert Salke will executive produce through Co-Lab 21, and 20th Television is the studio behind the project.
Variety was the first to report on the development of the “Eragon” series on Disney+ back in 2022. The show’s official description reads, “When destiny picks an average teenager to be the first Dragon Rider in a century, he must form an unbreakable bond with his dragon, master ancient magic, and face off against the mad king who wiped out the Riders.”
In addition to his work on “Eragon,” Harthan is currently known for showrunning the popular ABC series “High Potential.” His credits also include creating the Fox drama “Rosewood” and working on shows like “Psych,” “Crash,” and “Domin.” The series, based on the entire “The Inheritance Cycle” book series, is in the works at Disney+ under Harthan’s guidance as part of his overall deal with 20th Television. Can’t wait to see how this exciting adaptation comes together for fans of the beloved book series!
