Disney+ Rebooting Mickey Mouse Club
Disney is bringing back The Mickey Mouse Club in a brand new reboot on Disney+, giving a fresh group of Mouseketeers a chance to shine. The show, which first premiered in 1955, has a history of launching successful careers, including stars like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. The new cast includes familiar faces from Camp Rock 3 and Young Rock, as well as some exciting newcomers.
Production on the pilot is set to start this month, with Fullwell Entertainment producing the show alongside executive producers Ben Winston, Ashley Edens, Emma Conway, and Dave Piendak. The format is expected to focus on musical performances and showcase young talent across the board.
This isn’t the first time The Mickey Mouse Club has been reinvented. Previous versions like The New Mickey Mouse Club from the late 70s and The All New Mickey Mouse Club from the 90s also helped launch many successful careers. Disney has tried different versions over the years, including a social media-focused revival from 2017 to 2018.
The new reboot is part of Disney’s effort to connect with younger viewers on Disney+, and it joins other recent reboot announcements like a pilot for Aquamarine with original star Emma Roberts returning. In exciting news for fans, five original members of The New Mickey Mouse Club will be at the House of Mouse Expo, giving fans a chance to meet them and hear their stories.
