Hulu Brings Back Jason Statham’s $60M Fantasy Movie

Hulu has brought back Jason Statham’s action-fantasy film “In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale” after it struggled at the box office. The movie, based on the popular Dungeon Siege video game franchise, was released in theaters on January 11, 2008, and only made $13.1 million globally, falling short of its $60 million production budget.

Despite its initial failure, “In the Name of the King” is now on Hulu for viewers to enjoy. Directed by Uwe Boll, the film features Statham battling beast warriors controlled by a corrupt wizard in a fantasy setting filled with magic and mythical creatures.

While the movie did not do well at the box office, it did spawn two direct-to-video sequels. “In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds” and “In the Name of the King 3: The Last Mission” continued the story but were released straight to DVD and Blu-ray.

“In the Name of the King” follows the character Farmer, played by Statham, as he fights the Krugs, animal-like warriors under the control of the corrupt wizard Gallian, portrayed by Ray Liotta. The film also features a star-studded cast including Claire Forlani, Leelee Sobieski, John Rhys-Davies, Ron Perlman, Burt Reynolds, and Kristanna Loken.

Despite its shortcomings, the film offers visually impressive action sequences, solid fight choreography, and committed performances from the cast. So, if you’re a fan of fantasy movies and enjoy seeing Statham in action, this film might be worth checking out on Hulu today.
