Disney+ Orders ‘Last Kids on Earth’ Live-Action TV Pilot

The popular children’s book series “The Last Kids on Earth” has just received the green light for a live-action pilot on Disney+. The new show is based on the best-selling novels by Max Brallier and will be written and showrun by Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux, known for their work on hits like “The Vampire Diaries” and “Batwoman.”

While the cast has not been announced yet, Kevin Tancharoen, who worked on projects like “The Book of Boba Fett,” will direct and executive produce the pilot. The series will follow a group of teens, led by 13-year-old Jack Sullivan, as they work together to protect their town from a monster invasion.

The original graphic novel series consists of 10 books and five sequels. The Disney+ adaptation will bring these thrilling stories to life in a whole new way. It’s exciting to see this beloved series come to the screen in a live-action format.

Fans may remember that “The Last Kids on Earth” was previously adapted into an animated series on Netflix, which ran for three seasons. Created and executive produced by Max Brallier, the show featured a star-studded voice cast including Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, and more.

This new pilot order from Disney+ follows the recent announcement of another exciting project in the works, a TV pilot for “Aquamarine,” with Emma Roberts attached as an executive producer and guest star. The world of streaming entertainment is truly expanding with these fantastic new shows on the horizon.
