Disney+ Orders Pilot for Live-Action ‘Last Kids on Earth’ TV Adaptation
Disney+ has some exciting news for fans of “The Last Kids on Earth”! The popular children’s illustrated novel series is getting a live-action pilot adaptation. The talented duo Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux, known for their work on shows like “The Vampire Diaries” and “Batwoman,” will be writing, executive producing, and showrunning the series.
Based on the bestselling book series by Max Brallier, the Disney+ pilot will follow a group of teens led by 13-year-old Jack Sullivan as they come together to fight off monsters in their town of Wakefield. With a total of 10 books and five standalone sequels, there’s plenty of material to draw from for the show.
In addition to Fiveash and Stoteraux, the pilot will also have Kevin Tancharoen on board to direct and executive produce. The series will also have non-writing executive producers such as Brallier, Hillary Zwick Turner, Jennifer Twiner McCarron, and Matt Hornburg. Hornburg will be producing for Blue Ant Studios.
