Kathryn Newton Cast Alongside Cooper Hoffman in Hulu Pilot ‘Durango’

Kathryn Newton has joined Cooper Hoffman in the lead cast of Hulu’s drama pilot “Durango.”

In this project, Mikey (played by Hoffman) is a ski town local who loves chasing a thrill. He crosses paths with Bunny (Newton), a homeschooled runaway working as a waitress at a local diner. Together, they find themselves making a series of questionable decisions and falling in love, all while on the run from the law, criminals, and Mikey’s wife as they chase after their own version of the American dream.

According to Hulu’s character description, Bunny is a captivating, untamed, and deeply private individual. She’s always on the move, and her latest stop in Durango is no exception. Bunny is not quick to trust others, but there’s something about Mikey, the local snowboarding legend, that breaks through her defenses. When the two find themselves in a tight spot, Bunny’s long-buried secrets threaten to come to light.

The pilot is written by Eliza Clark, with executive production credits going to Michael Ellenberg. The production is a collaboration between 20th Television and Media Res.

Newton’s most recent project was “Ready or Not 2,” a thriller sequel where she starred alongside Samara Weaving. She is currently working on Roxy Sophie Sorkin’s upcoming feature film as well.
