Dungeon Crawler Carl TV Series Arrives on Peacock

The live-action series “Dungeon Crawler Carl” has officially been picked up by Peacock, according to recent reports. The series is based on the popular LitRPG book series by Matt Dinniman, which was acquired by Universal International Studios in early 2025. Initially, no network or streamer was attached to the project at that time. Chris Yost is set to write and executive produce the series, with Seth MacFarlane producing under his Fuzzy Door banner, alongside Dinniman and Erica Huggins of Fuzzy Door. Rachel Hargreaves-Heald will also be an executive producer in charge of production for Fuzzy Door.

The show’s official logline describes a world where an alien invasion has decimated humanity, and survivors must fight for their lives on a merciless intergalactic game show. Central to the story is Coast Guard vet Carl, who finds himself navigating the apocalypse with his ex-girlfriend’s show cat, Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk. They face off against monsters, aliens, an unhinged A.I., and fellow survivors—all for the sake of captivating television. The stakes are high, and survival is optional, but entertainment is not.
