Disney+ Introduces Verts Vertical Video Feed for Mobile Users

Disney+ just rolled out a cool new feature on its U.S. mobile app called Verts, and it’s all about vertical video content. This move follows in the footsteps of ESPN, which introduced Verts on its app last year.

Debuted at Disney’s 2026 Global Tech & Data Showcase, Verts is a vertical video feed accessible through a new icon in the Disney+ mobile app’s navigation bar. Users can swipe through scenes and clips from their favorite movies and shows, add titles to their Watchlist, or jump right into playback.

Disney reports that early tests of Verts on Disney+ and its previous launch on ESPN have shown increased user engagement. They credit this to a recommendation algorithm that customizes the feed for each user, making the viewing experience more personal and enjoyable.

On the ESPN app, Verts offers a personalized feed of news highlights, viral clips, and curated social content aimed at positioning ESPN as the go-to spot for digital sports video. Thanks to a new personalization algorithm, fans can easily browse through vertical short-form videos using swipe navigation.

At the outset, Verts on Disney+ focuses on content discovery across Disney’s extensive catalog. However, the company is looking into expanding the feature over time by potentially adding creator content and other storytelling formats. Watch out for more exciting updates!
