Jeremy Allen White Leaves Netflix’s ‘Enigma Variations’

Jeremy Allen-White has exited Netflix’s upcoming limited series Enigma Variations, according to sources. While the reason for his departure remains unknown, casting is currently underway to find a replacement.

Enigma Variations is based on Andre Aciman’s 2017 novel, delving into the varied romances of the lead character, Paul, at different stages in his life. Aciman, known for the novel “Call Me by Your Name,” which was adapted into an award-winning film, is on board as an executive producer for the series.

White, who was set to star and executive produce the series, has a busy year ahead with roles in A24’s “Enemies,” Sony Pictures’ “The Social Reckoning,” and “The Mandalorian Grogu.” His recent work includes “The Iron Claw” and “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.”

On the television side, White is best known for his performances in “Shameless” and “The Bear,” for which he has received two Emmy awards.
