Paramount+ UFC debut breaks streaming records
The UFC’s first event on Paramount+ broke records and set a high bar for exclusive live streaming content on the platform. UFC 324, which took place this past Saturday, reached an impressive 7.18 million households and had an average of 4.96 million live streaming views for the main card. At its peak, there were 5.93 million concurrent streams during the event.
According to a joint statement from Paramount+ and the UFC, UFC 324 was the most-watched live UFC event in almost a decade across linear TV, broadcast, and streaming platforms. This event was available to Paramount+ subscribers at no additional cost, making it a standout success for the platform.
The interim lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett was the highlight of the night, with Gaethje securing a unanimous decision win after a tough five-round battle at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While direct comparisons to the pay-per-view era are tricky, the sheer scale of UFC 324’s viewership, which reached millions of households, is a clear indication of its success.
This event marked the beginning of a new era for the UFC and Paramount+, following a landmark seven-year, $7.7 billion deal that brought all UFC numbered events and fight nights to the streaming service. With impressive viewership numbers and record-breaking reach, UFC 324 has set a high standard for future events on Paramount+.
