Looney Tunes Finds New Home on Turner Classic Movies

Looney Tunes is getting a new home on Turner Classic Movies starting February 2! Warner Bros. Discovery is bringing over 750 shorts to TCM, kicking off with a weeklong marathon of 45 classic cartoons featuring Bugs Bunny. Bugs will be in the spotlight as Star of the Month, starting with the 1940 classic “A Wild Hare.” This delightful cartoon marked Bugs Bunny’s debut and even got an Oscar nomination! The marathon will be a fantastic trip down memory lane.

You can catch these cartoons beyond February, as TCM plans to continue showing them “on an ongoing basis,” and even airing select titles as TCM Premieres. In an official press release, programming SVP Charlie Tabas shared that TCM is excited to become the new lifelong home for this iconic Looney Tunes library. It’s a fascinating opportunity to cherish these timeless cartoons like never before and celebrate their enduring impact on classic films.

Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery removed many Looney Tunes shorts from HBO Max, relocating them to Tubi. This turned out to be a great move for Tubi, which enthusiastically welcomed the shorts into its library. As of now, it’s uncertain how much of an overlap there will be between what’s on Tubi and what’s on TCM.

The Looney Tunes universe is expanding further this year: characters are returning to the big screen in “Coyote vs. Acme,” and Speedy Gonzales is set to star in his own solo movie. It’s an exciting time for fans of these beloved characters, with more adventures and stories on the horizon.
