Serial Maven to Distribute 50,000 First Dates Documentary on Amazon and Peacock Alley
Serial Maven Studios, based in Toronto, has secured the worldwide distribution rights for the documentary “50,000 First Dates: A True Story.” This captivating 2-hour documentary delves into the complexities of modern love, memory, and women’s brain health. Originally released as a Prime Video original by Peacock Alley Entertainment in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, this film tells the story of a Toronto entrepreneur who mysteriously wakes up one day with no memory of her partner, convinced that he is a complete stranger.
As her unusual situation gains widespread attention, viewers follow the couple as they navigate the challenges of rebuilding their life and relationship amidst emotional, medical, and public scrutiny. The documentary is produced by Peacock Alley’s president and founder, Carrie Mudd, under the direction of Brent Hodge. Serial Maven Studios will be handling all global distribution and licensing activities outside of the initial commissioning regions.
In addition to this exciting news, Serial Maven has recently received approval for a collaborative project titled “Toronto Airport Uncovered,” a Canada/UK co-production. This venture, produced in conjunction with Arrow Media and Cantina Media, has been commissioned by notable networks such as National Geographic in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as Corus Entertainment in Canada. SBS in Australia has also come on board as a pre-sale partner for this innovative project.
