CLUE Scripted Series in Development at Peacock: Dana Fox & Nicholas Stoller

A new Clue series is in the works over at Peacock, based on the classic murder mystery board game. The talented duo behind the project includes Dana Fox, known for her work on “Wicked: For Good,” as the writer and executive producer, along with Nicholas Stoller, the director and executive producer of “You’re Cordially Invited.”

Sony Pictures Television and Hasbro Entertainment got the ball rolling back in October, sending out pitch material in true Clue fashion—think manila envelopes and accompanying board games. Several platforms expressed interest, but ultimately, Peacock nabbed the series.

Clue is expected to offer a murder mystery with comedic elements, drawing inspiration from Rian Johnson’s popular “Knives Out” movies and his Peacock series, “Poker Face.” With Poker Face not returning for a third season, it seems Clue could fill that gap for audiences on Peacock.

Since Peacock is a domestic platform, this deal allows Sony TV to maintain and utilize international rights, making it a win-win. The series takes a modern twist on the classic characters, inviting a group of strangers to solve a billionaire’s murder mystery night. As they attempt to uncover ‘who did it, where, and with what,’ they quickly realize nothing is as it seems and the stakes are higher than they could ever imagine.

Fox is not only writing but also serving as showrunner, while Stoller is set to direct. Get ready to dive into the mysteries and humor of Clue on Peacock soon!
