Walt Disney Company Hires New Vice President for Disney+ & Networks
The Walt Disney Company recently announced the appointment of Rochelle Knock as the new Disney+ and Networks Vice President for Sub-Saharan Africa. Rochelle will be taking on the role of Vice President, Disney+ & Networks and Country Head, Sub-Saharan Africa, starting in December 2025.
In a statement, Rochelle expressed her honor in leading the Disney team in Africa and her excitement about the opportunity to contribute to the long-term growth and impact of the media industry. She is looking forward to leveraging Disney’s established business to bring beloved brands and stories to audiences across the continent.
Her responsibilities will focus on developing the overall business growth strategy, direct-to-consumer initiatives, and managing family and factual linear networks. Additionally, she will collaborate with Disney’s platform distribution team to expand the business regionally within EMEA.
Simon Amselem, Senior Vice President Direct-to-Consumer & Networks and Country Manager Iberia and Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized that Rochelle’s appointment marks a significant milestone in Disney’s history on the continent. He highlighted her industry expertise and deep understanding of customer value and product management as crucial assets in driving growth and expanding Disney’s storytelling reach.
Rochelle brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served in leadership positions at companies like Yoco Technologies and MultiChoice Group. Her background in customer value management and product development positions her well to advance Disney’s presence in Sub-Saharan Africa.
