Rochelle Knock appointed as new Disney Africa boss for Disney+ and TV channels
Disney has just announced that Rochelle Knock will be the new Disney Africa boss, taking over from Christine Service in December. Knock, who was previously the head of customer value management at Yoco Technologies, will now lead Disney’s operations in sub-Saharan Africa.
In her new role as vice president for Disney+ & Networks and country head for sub-Saharan Africa, Knock will be in charge of driving the business growth strategy for Disney in the region. This includes overseeing Disney’s direct-to-consumer business, as well as managing the family and factual linear networks.
Simon Amselen, senior vice president of Disney’s direct-to-consumer division, expressed his excitement about Knock’s appointment, highlighting her industry experience and expertise in customer value and product management. Knock herself is thrilled to be leading the Disney team in Africa and is looking forward to collaborating with her colleagues to bring Disney’s beloved brands and stories to audiences across the continent.
Prior to joining Disney, Knock worked at MultiChoice and Vodacom in various management roles focused on customer value and product management. Her experience in these areas will undoubtedly be valuable in her new position at Disney Africa. The company is confident that she will help drive growth and expand their reach in the region.
