‘Pluribus’ Receives 18 Emmy Nominations in Latest Awards

The sci-fi drama series “Pluribus” on Apple TV+ has scored an impressive 18 Emmy Award nominations. Directed by Vince Gilligan and filmed in various locations across New Mexico, this post-apocalyptic show follows Carol, played by the talented Rhea Seehorn, in a world taken over by a hive mind.

Known for his hit shows like “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” also filmed in New Mexico, Gilligan has continued his success with “Pluribus.” This nine-episode season premiered in November 2025 and features captivating filming locations such as a temporary cul-de-sac on the West Mesa and spots like the Coronado Center and Vernon’s Speakeasy.

Now, the series has received recognition from the Television Academy with nominations in a variety of categories like Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Rhea Seehorn, and Outstanding Directing and Writing for Vince Gilligan. The show has garnered praise for its excellence in disciplines including directing, writing, editing, and acting, highlighting the talents of over 1,400 New Mexicans who worked on the production.

New Mexico Film Office director Steve Graham expressed his excitement, stating, “We are so happy to see ‘Pluribus’ get the recognition it deserves.” He commended Gilligan for his long-standing creative work in the state, spanning 19 years. Additionally, HBO’s “Miss You, Love You,” filmed in New Mexico and featuring stars like Allison Janney and Andrew Rannells, also received a nomination for Outstanding Television Movie.
