Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender Premiere on Paramount+ Moved Up with Release of First Trailer

Attention Avatar: The Last Airbender fans! Get ready for some exciting news – the highly anticipated animated film is coming to Paramount+ sooner than expected, with a new release date in July. The first trailer has been released, giving us a glimpse into Team Avatar’s next journey.

In the trailer, we see Aang after the events of the original series, still grappling with the responsibility of being the last airbender. The story follows Aang as he uncovers an ancient power that could save his culture and sets out on a quest with his friends to protect it from falling into the wrong hands.

One of the exciting new additions to the film is the character Tagah, an ancient airbender voiced by Dave Bautista. Aang discovers Tagah frozen on a mountain top, leading to themes of survivor’s guilt, cultural survival, and rebuilding the Air Nomads.

The movie is set roughly a decade after the Hundred Year War ended, with Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, and Toph all grown up. The voice cast includes Eric Nam as Aang, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Steven Yeun as Zuko, and Dionne Quan as Toph. Dee Bradley Baker also returns to voice Appa and Momo, adding a nostalgic touch to the film.

Despite a difficult rollout that included a leak of the full film online in April, the official release has been reshaped as an opportunity for fans to experience the movie properly. Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is the first project from Avatar Studios, a division created to expand the Avatar universe.

Get ready for more Avatar content in the future, including Netflix’s live-action series and the upcoming animated sequel series Avatar: Seven Havens. The franchise is thriving, and fans have a lot to look forward to!
