UFC White House Card Draws 8 Million Viewers on Paramount+ in US and Latin America

The recent UFC event held at the White House was a huge hit on Paramount+! The event took place on June 14 with a purpose-built octagon on the south lawn of the presidential residence. And get this – it averaged 8.2 million viewers in the United States and Latin America. That makes it the most-watched live event in Paramount+’s history so far.

In other streaming news, Peacock’s Love Island USA has kicked off its eighth season with a bang. Nielsen streaming figures reveal that 7 million people in the U.S. tuned in to watch the UFC card, with an additional 1.2 million viewers in Latin America. Almost 17 million people (15.26 million in the U.S.) caught at least a minute of the action.

Paramount struck a seven-year, $7.7 billion media rights deal with the UFC, leading to the White House event that was suggested by President Donald Trump and brought to life by UFC CEO Dana White, a friend of Trump. This deal has significantly expanded the viewership of UFC events compared to its previous pay-per-view model, with up to 20 times higher viewership than before.

On the Love Island front, Peacock reports that the show racked up 2.3 billion minutes of viewing in the first two weeks of season eight based on initial Nielsen data. This number is expected to grow as more data is collected. This season is already showing promising improvement over the previous one, with 26 percent of the audience watching on mobile devices. Nielsen primarily measures viewing on TV screens, so this number is likely to be even higher!
