New Film and Media Scoring Faculty Member J.R. Paredes Joins CCM at University of Cincinnati
CCM is thrilled to introduce J.R. Paredes as the newest addition to their team, joining as an Assistant Professor of Film and Media Scoring. Starting on August 15, 2026, Paredes brings a wealth of experience in composing, music production, and audio post-production. His impressive portfolio includes original scores for films and series featured on big platforms like Apple TV+ and Prime Video, along with extensive work in sound design and mixing.
As a GRAMMY voting member of The Recording Academy, Paredes has been involved in over 100 music releases, showcasing his multifaceted talent as a producer, engineer, mixer, and mastering engineer. His compositions span various genres, blending modern digital sounds with traditional orchestral elements.
Before joining CCM, Paredes spent the past seven years teaching film scoring, sound design, music production, and more at Full Sail University. Additionally, he founded Satellite Music Group, a recording studio in Houston, and served as Vice President of All About Music, overseeing various music education programs.
With a Master of Music from Rice University and a Bachelor of Music from Trinity University, Paredes brings a solid foundation to his role at CCM. College-Conservatory of Music Dean Pete Jutras praised his expertise, emphasizing the value Paredes will bring to students seeking to explore the world of film and media scoring.
