Prime Video Joins Short-Form Video Trend

Prime Video is following the trend of short-form video feeds with the introduction of Clips. This new feature allows users to watch short, shareable video clips from Prime Video content directly on their mobile app. Originally designed for NBA games, Clips have now expanded to include shows like The Boys and other Prime originals. Users can access the Clips feed by scrolling down on the home page to the Clips carousel and tapping on any clip. From there, clips can be easily shared with others by copying and pasting a link. Users also have the option to like clips and use them as a way to discover new shows or movies. Currently, the feature is only available to select customers in the United States on Android, iOS, and Fire Tablet devices, but it will be rolled out to more users throughout the summer. Prime Video executive Brian Griffin stated, “Clips gives customers a whole new way to browse with short, personalized snippets tailored to their interests. Whether they have a few minutes to scroll or are looking for something to watch when they have more time, entertainment is just a tap away.”

While the feature draws comparisons to TikTok, users cannot create their own clips at this time. Instead, it serves as a marketing tool for Amazon to promote Prime Video content to users. So, get ready to discover new shows and movies through short, engaging clips on Prime Video!
