Tom Hiddleston Almost Directed Episode of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
Tom Hiddleston, known for his role as Loki, and Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, almost crossed paths behind the scenes of the Daredevil series. Charlie Cox shared in an interview before the finale of Daredevil: Born Again that Tom Hiddleston, a personal friend whom he’s worked with on non-Marvel projects, came close to directing an episode of the show.
During a podcast interview with Josh Horowitz, Charlie Cox was thrilled to recall their time co-starring in Harold Pinter’s Betrayal on Broadway in 2019 with Tom Hiddleston. It turns out, Tom was set to direct an episode of Daredevil: Born Again in the original season before it was shortened to just nine episodes in 2025 due to an industry strike in 2023. Charlie Cox expressed regret that it fell through and called it “one of the great losses of the back half of that original season.”
Although the changes made to the show were deemed necessary and beneficial, Charlie Cox still feels disappointed: “He was going to direct episode 12 or something… We were already on the phone collaborating and coming up with ideas and stuff. That would have been lovely.” The hope now, perhaps, is that Tom Hiddleston might direct an episode in a potential future season. Marvel fans are definitely rooting for this crossover.
