Gilgo Beach Murders Scripted Series Coming to Peacock
Peacock is gearing up to bring a gripping new scripted true crime series to our screens. The show is based on the chilling case of the Gilgo Beach murders, with Jordan Hawley set to write and executive produce the project, alongside Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who will be executive producing under his G-Unit Films and Television banner. UCP will be producing the series.
The inspiration for this scripted series comes from the Peacock docuseries “The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets,” which Jackson also had a hand in executive producing. The show’s logline sets the scene for what promises to be a tense and intriguing viewing experience: “For 30 years, the Long Island serial killer hunted in the shadows of suburbia — evading law enforcement by living an unremarkable double life. When detectives finally crack the case, his devoted wife and children are forced to confront the man they thought they knew, now revealed as a sadistic killer.”
The chilling reality behind this series is that police found 10 sets of human remains near Gilgo Beach in Long Island between 2010 and 2011, sending shockwaves through the community. Rex Heuermann was arrested in connection with seven of these murders, later admitting to an eighth after his arrest. He recently pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing in June 2026.
Jordan Hawley, the mastermind behind the script, has a track record of producing compelling television, having previously worked on hit shows like “Sex/Life,” “UnReal,” and “A Million Little Things.”
Aside from his involvement in the development of this scripted series, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has also worked on the documentary “TikTok Star Murders” for Peacock. Looking ahead, Jackson is cooking up another series adaptation based on his novel “The Accomplice,” with Taraji P. Henson on board to star in the project. It’s clear that these creators bring a wealth of experience to the table, promising an engaging and immersive viewing experience for audiences eager to delve into the chilling mysteries of the Gilgo Beach murders.
