Gilgo Beach Murders Drama Coming to Peacock

Peacock, the streaming service from NBCUniversal, is diving into a gripping new project based on a notorious true crime story. They’ve teamed up with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and writer Jordan Hawley to develop a drama centered on the Gilgo Beach murders that occurred on Long Island, New York.

This collaboration between Peacock, Universal Studio Group’s UCP, and Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television is inspired by a docuseries titled The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets, produced by Jackson and originally released on Peacock. The series, initially three episodes long, dropped a fourth installment in April 23, shortly after a man named Rex Heuermann pleaded guilty to the murders of eight women whose bodies were found along Gilgo Beach.

Jordan Hawley, known for his work on shows like A Million Little Things and Netflix’s Sex/Life, is leading the writing and will serve as an executive producer alongside Jackson. The show’s description teases a story about a long-standing manhunt for a serial killer living a double life right under the noses of his family, only to be uncovered by law enforcement after three decades of eluding capture.

The Gilgo Beach case, also known as the Long Island serial killings, has attracted widespread attention in the true crime genre, with several documentaries and news programs profiling the case. Netflix, CBS, and ID are among the platforms that have explored this chilling story, alongside Peacock’s House of Secrets. Jackson’s involvement in docuseries like TikTok Star Murders and his upcoming scripted series based on his novel The Accomplice show his commitment to telling compelling stories on the platform.
