Gilgo Beach Murders Drama Coming to Peacock
Peacock is gearing up to bring viewers a scripted series inspired by one of the most chilling serial killer cases of recent years. The Gilgo Beach murders, which took place on New York’s Long Island, are set to be the basis of a new drama on the NBCUniversal streaming platform.
Behind the project is the powerhouse duo of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and writer Jordan Hawley. The series is being developed under Universal Studio Group’s UCP, along with Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television. The idea for the show was sparked by a docuseries produced by Jackson called The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets, which first aired on Peacock last year. Originally a three-part series, an additional fourth episode was released on April 23. This extra episode coincided with the guilty plea of Rex Heuermann, a 62-year-old man who admitted to murdering eight women and disposing of their bodies along Gilgo Beach.
Jordan Hawley, known for their work on popular shows like A Million Little Things and Netflix’s Sex/Life, has taken on the writing duties for the project. Hawley will also serve as an executive producer alongside Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
The premise of the upcoming series is intriguing, promising a deep dive into the 30-year saga of the Long Island serial killer. This mysterious figure managed to evade law enforcement for decades by leading a seemingly normal life while secretly committing horrific crimes. As details continue to emerge about this captivating story, fans can look forward to a gripping and compelling narrative that delves into the darkest corners of human nature.
