Prime Video Cancels Gen V: The Boys Spin-off

Sony Pictures Television’s show Gen V is coming to an end after two seasons. Prime Video made the decision to cancel this youth-oriented series, which followed the lives of young superheroes in training at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. It first premiered in 2023 and wove in characters and plotlines from The Boys, another show set to conclude next month after a five-season run.

Gen V, part of the Vought Cinematic Universe, was a joint production between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Original Film, Kripke Enterprises, and Point Grey Pictures also involved. The creators behind Gen V are also working on Vought Rising, a spin-off slated to premiere in 2027. This new series will be a prequel set in the 1950s, focusing on the characters Soldier Boy and Stormfront.

The executive producers of Gen V, Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg, expressed their regret over the show’s end but assured fans that the characters’ stories will continue in The Boys Season 5 and other upcoming VCU projects. They promised that audiences will see more of these characters in the future, so stay tuned for more superhero action!
