Orangutans have the longest childhoods of any animal, and the movie explores the reasons behind this. Indah’s mother, Diann, has passed on many survival techniques to her daughter, who in turn shares her knowledge with a friend. The film captures the beauty of the Sumatran rainforest, showcasing gibbons swinging, monkeys leaping, snakes, lizards, and other creatures in their natural habitat. The dominant male, Bintang, and a funny sun bear also make appearances, adding to the charm of the film.
