‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Fans Demand Reboot Revival at Hulu Headquarters

Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans are anything but thrilled a month after finding out that the planned reboot at Disney got scrapped. The news struck a chord with many viewers who were eagerly anticipating a new installment in the sci-fi/horror series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. Disney’s decision to halt production left fans, as well as Gellar herself, blindsided and upset.

Reacting to the unfortunate announcement, a group of approximately 20 dedicated fans gathered outside Hulu’s Santa Monica office, exactly one month after the reboot’s cancellation, to voice their disappointment and demand the return of the beloved show. The protest also aligned with Sarah Michelle Gellar’s birthday, which fans marked as International Buffy Day.

Clad in ‘Buffy’ memorabilia and armed with pro-Buffy placards, the demonstrators emphasized their unwavering enthusiasm for the franchise, rallying for the revival to breathe new life into the series. Reports suggest that both Gellar and the revival’s slated director, Chloé Zhao, expressed their shock and dismay at the sudden turn of events, especially considering Gellar’s recent success at SXSW with her movie “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” and Zhao’s impressive accolades with 8 Oscar nominations for “Hamnet.”

The passionate contingent of fans is making their voices heard in hopes of convincing Disney to reconsider the reboot’s cancellation and bring back the legendary vampire slayer for another epic adventure on screen.
