Phoebe Dynevor Stars in Netflix Shark Survival Thriller: ‘Thrash’ Review
Every shark movie takes a nod from the classic “Jaws,” but “Thrash” channels the nail-biting suspense of Alexandre Aja’s “Crawl,” where instead of alligators in a hurricane, we get aggressive sharks in a flood. The story unfolds in a South Carolina town overrun by bull sharks and a ravenous great white after the levees break and the waters rise.
Despite its questionable spelling, Tommy Wirkola’s film offers a thrilling escape that should find a home on Netflix after Sony passed on a theatrical release. Brace yourself for some eyebrow-raising moments, like Phoebe Dynevor’s character, Lisa, giving birth in the floodwaters and then casually swearing at the sharks with her newborn in tow. It’s definitely a wild ride, but one that’s sure to keep you entertained.
