Netflix Expands into Latin America with new Buenos Aires Office

Netflix has just opened its new offices in Buenos Aires and unveiled an exciting lineup of Argentine productions set to premiere in 2026 and 2027. This slate includes series, films, and documentaries, featuring a Mafalda animated series and a dystopian miniseries based on a Philip K. Dick novel.

Since Netflix launched in Latin America back in 2011, the streaming giant has been investing in local content. In 2018, they began producing content in Argentina, and in 2021, they established their first office in the country. Now, with this new larger office, Netflix is expanding its local team and continuing to invest in Argentina’s rich storytelling and talent pool.

According to Francisco Ramos, vp of content for Latin America, Netflix views Argentina as a vital partner in their regional strategy. The country’s heritage, creativity, and ability to tell impactful local stories that resonate globally make it a key player. This move represents Netflix’s commitment to Argentina and its audiovisual industry, showcasing their dedication to celebrating local creativity. And as a bonus, Netflix is marking 15 years in Latin America with the opening of these new offices and the bolstering of their local presence.
