Prime Video unveils massive viewership numbers for Fallout Season 2
Fallout Season 2 has captured the attention of a massive global audience, with Prime Video reporting that 83 million people worldwide tuned in during the first 13 weeks of its release. This post-apocalyptic drama’s first season also saw a bump in viewership, with a total of 100 million people watching some part of the series.
Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed excitement about the show’s success, stating, “Fallout continues to resonate in a powerful way with our global Prime Video audience.” Season 2 has now joined Season 1 as two of the top four biggest seasons ever launched by the platform. The show has been a hit, with only Reacher’s second season surpassing its viewership numbers.
Based on the popular video game franchise, Fallout is set in a world devastated by nuclear destruction, following Ella Purnell’s character, Lucy, as she navigates the wasteland of post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. The series has been renewed for a third season, with production slated to kick off in mid-2026.
Todd Howard, executive producer, hinted at exciting things to come, sharing with Variety, “For us on the game and TV show side, we’re writing Season 3 now.” The team is exploring how to seamlessly integrate elements from the TV show into the games, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience for fans.
