Sophie Turner injured, ‘Tomb Raider’ filming paused

LOS ANGELES – Great news for fans eagerly awaiting Prime Video’s upcoming “Tomb Raider” series – well, it was great news until a bit of a hiccup occurred. Sophie Turner, known for her role as Sansa Stark in “Game of Thrones,” sustained a “minor” injury while filming, leading to a temporary pause in production. Don’t worry, though, the pause is simply to give Turner the time she needs to make a full recovery.

Prime Video confirmed that Turner, an Emmy-nominee, would be taking on the role of Lara Croft in the series back in September. With the “Fleabag” creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm as creator, writer, and executive producer, alongside co-showrunner Chad Hodge, expectations for the series are sky-high.

Turner’s first look as Croft’s character was revealed earlier this year, showing her decked out in the iconic dark green tank top, shorts, and sunglasses, complete with gun holsters on her legs. However, as excited as fans are to see Turner take on this iconic role, the production pause means that we’ll have to wait just a bit longer to see her in action.

Unfortunately, further details about the nature of Turner’s injury remain unknown, as representatives for the star have not yet commented.
