The Punisher Solo Disney+ Special Premieres in May

After making appearances on popular shows like Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is set to star in his own special on Disney+ this summer. The show, titled The Punisher: One Last Kill, will showcase Bernthal’s portrayal of Frank Castle, a character he first brought to life in Marvel’s Netflix TV universe.

This special marks a unique offering from Marvel, being billed as a “Marvel Television Special Presentation,” meaning it’s a one-time event rather than an ongoing series. The Punisher character, created by writer Gerry Conway and artists John Romita Sr. and Ross Andru in 1974, has a long and storied history in comics, eventually leading to his own monthly series and multiple ongoing books in the 1990s.

Before Bernthal took on the role, the Punisher was played in movies by actors like Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, and Ray Stevenson. The upcoming special, The Punisher: One Last Kill, will premiere on Disney+ on May 12, just one week after the conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

It’s quite interesting to see Disney+ promoting a show with a title like One Last Kill, but no doubt fans of The Punisher will be eager to see what this special has in store. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the release date and get ready to delve into the world of this beloved antihero.
