Disney Greenlights Zombies 5 for Disney+ Channel

Disney is adding to its growing lineup of original content with the announcement of “Zombies 5,” the next installment in the popular movie franchise. Exciting news for fans of the series, as stars Malachi Barton and Freya Skye are set to reprise their roles. Production is set to kick off in New Zealand this spring, with an official title yet to be revealed.

While franchise veterans Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly will not be returning, Trevor Tordjman is confirmed to be back as Bucky, the cheer captain. The plot of “Zombies 5” will pick up where the previous installment left off, as Nova and Victor navigate a new challenge with the arrival of a group of mermaids in Rayburn. To safeguard the fragile peace between the Daywalkers and Vampires, they must band together once more to uncover the mermaids’ true intentions.

Joining the returning cast will be Julian Lerner as Ray, along with a trio of mysterious mermaids: Diaana Babnicova as Pearl, Taylor Oliver as Fin, and Olive Mortimer as Sandy. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, expressed excitement about the new direction of the franchise, promising a fresh dynamic with the introduction of mermaids while staying true to the core themes of unity and acceptance that fans have come to love.
