Emma Roberts Set to Star in ‘Bride Wars’ TV Adaptation on Peacock
Emma Roberts is set to star in an exciting new TV series adaptation of “Bride Wars” on Peacock. The show, described as a fresh take on the 2009 film, is set in North Carolina and follows a big-city wedding planner played by Roberts. Her character’s arrival in a small town leads to a showdown with a local planner, sparking a rivalry over planning the same wedding that evolves into a clash over deeper themes of friendship, community, and love.
Joining Roberts as executive producers are Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann for New Regency; Karah Preiss and Matt Matruski for Belletrist; and Alexandra Milchan and Martin Salgo for Crescent Line. New Regency takes the lead on the production, with 20th Television and UCP as co-studios.
The series is created and executive produced by Sascha Rothchild, known for her work on “XO Kitty,” “The Baby-Sitters Club,” and “GLOW.” Rothchild is currently working on an adaptation of “Young Rich Widows” for Amazon. In addition to her involvement in the series, Roberts is busy filming the feature film “Hal” alongside Alexander Ludwig and serving as an executive producer on “Tell Me Lies.”
