Daredevil: Born Again Revamped by Marvel Due to Stars

According to D’Onofrio, their plan was to continually give notes and feedback, but initially, Marvel wasn’t taking them seriously. It wasn’t until just before the 2023 writers’ strike that the stars finally got their message across. The studio heads were able to review the footage that had been shot, leading them to rethink the entire series.
The impact of the strike was significant, as it allowed Marvel Studios to assess what wasn’t working and make necessary changes. Production of “Daredevil: Born Again” started over with showrunner Dario Scardapane and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead taking the lead. While some original material remained, more elements from the Netflix series were incorporated into the new version.
Despite the costly changes, the studio prioritized doing justice to Cox, D’Onofrio, and the loyal fans of the original “Daredevil” series. The commitment to honoring the source material has extended to the renewed third season of “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+. Cox and D’Onofrio inadvertently sparked a shift in perspective for Marvel Studios, with plans to blend the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the feel of traditional television in future projects.
