Slow Horses Season 6: Intriguing Character Change Teased by Star
In the upcoming season of Slow Horses, it looks like Roddy Ho, played by Christopher Chung, is in for some changes. After a series of intense experiences in season 5, including near-death situations and heartbreak, Roddy is set to show a more spiritual side in season 6.
Chung shared in an exclusive interview with RadioTimes.com that Roddy has learned some valuable lessons from the past season. “Roddy is a little bit more spiritual now,” Chung explained. “He might have learned a few things from season 5, from the love that he didn’t get returned back to him. You might see him in a little bit more of a holistic place in season 6.”
Playing Roddy has been a fun experience for Chung, who enjoys the character’s unfiltered and obnoxious nature. “Playing Roddy is so brilliant because you just get to say exactly the things that you are not allowed to say in real life and be completely unfiltered, uncensored, and as obnoxious as you like, but trying to imbue him with a sense of humanity. It’s always really fun.”
When asked if Roddy will show more humanity in season 6, Chung hinted, “I think he does. He always has the wall up, even though inside maybe he’s a little bit more like a puppy dog than anyone would realize.”
Season 6 of Slow Horses, set to be released later this year, will adapt two of Mick Herron’s novels. Chung shared that this season will combine the two books into one, giving the show a fresh push forward from where season 5 left off.
Looking ahead, Chung expressed his willingness to continue playing Roddy for as long as possible. “I’d be happy to play Roddy until – well, not the day I die, because that could be a long time. But I think the day that I have to take my Roddy Ho hat off will be a very sad day, so hopefully it’s not anytime soon.”
