Apple TV+ Names Brandon Sanderson to Lead Mistborn and Cosmere Adaptations

Apple TV+ has made a significant move by bringing acclaimed fantasy author Brandon Sanderson on board to adapt his beloved Cosmere books. This partnership is not your ordinary Hollywood adaptation story. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sanderson’s deal with Apple TV+ gives him an unprecedented level of creative control. In fact, he will be involved in writing, producing, consulting, and even have approval rights. This level of involvement is a rarity in the industry, even surpassing that of other renowned authors like J.K. Rowling and George R.R. Martin.
Currently, Apple TV+ is focusing on bringing Sanderson’s Mistborn series to the big screen and The Stormlight Archive to episodic television. With seven books under its banner, Mistborn has captured the imagination of readers, while The Stormlight Archive, with its five novels and three novellas so far, is set to be a 10-book series when complete.
