Kayvan Novak, Bonita Friedericy, Jon Pointing cast in Amy Poehler series

Kayvan Novak, Bonita Friedericy, and Jon Pointing are set to join the cast of Peacock’s upcoming comedy series “Dig” in recurring roles. This exciting series, based on Kate Myers’ book “Excavations,” was first announced in May 2025 by NBCUniversal’s streamer. The show follows four women working at an archeological dig in Greece, each navigating different paths in life. When they uncover a buried secret that could change history, they find themselves in the midst of a high-stakes international conspiracy.

The new additions to the cast will join stars Amy Poehler, Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza. Kayvan Novak will play Stavros, the romantic mayor of the Greek village hosting the dig. Bonita Friedericy takes on the role of Dorothy, the versatile cook, office manager, and nurse of the site. Jon Pointing portrays Gary, the site manager and Clare’s fiancé, known for his pleasant demeanor and ability to get along with everyone.

Kayvan Novak is well-known for his role as Nandor the Relentless on FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” and his BAFTA-winning performance in “Fonejacker.” He has also appeared in popular shows like “Archer” and movies such as “Cruella” and “Paddington.” Represented by Artists First, Novak’s addition to the cast promises to bring his unique charm and talent to the series.
