Jean Elie Discusses Role as Creative Consultant and Cast Member on ‘Wonder Man’
Marvel fans, get ready! Wonder Man is coming to Disney+ this week, bringing the beloved superhero from the comic books to the screen. We had the chance to sit down with Jean Elie, the creative consultant and actor for the show, to get an inside look at his experience working on this exciting project.
Elie shared his perspective on the significance of representing Haitian culture in the Marvel Universe. As a first-generation Haitian American, he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to showcase his heritage in this iconic setting. He emphasized the importance of shining a spotlight on the diversity within the Black culture, highlighting the different diasporas and ethnicities that make it so rich and unique.
Transitioning from a creative consultant to an actor on set was a nerve-wracking experience for Elie. He admitted feeling more anxious about his performance than his behind-the-scenes work. Acting required him to be vulnerable, open to criticism, and fully present in the moment. However, working alongside talented co-stars like Yahya and Ben in the Marvel Cinematic Universe made the experience unforgettable and incredibly rewarding.
Wonder Man will be available for streaming on Disney+ starting January 27 at 6 PM PST. Don’t miss out on this thrilling new addition to the Marvel lineup!
