Disney+ Casts Will Forte in ‘The Last Man on Earth’ Remake With Artus

Disney+ is bringing a French remake of the popular 2015 sci-fi comedy series “The Last Man on Earth” to the screen. Starring French star Artus and created by Will Forte, known for his work on “Saturday Night Live,” this remake is set to premiere on Disney+ this year. The show was recently announced at the Disney+ showcase in Paris.

In this version of the series, a catastrophic event has wiped out humanity, leaving Adam as the last man on Earth. He enjoys the perks of solitude but still longs for the company of another survivor, hopefully a female companion. The original series, which aired on Fox from 2015 to 2018, earned five Primetime Emmy Awards nominations and featured Forte in the lead role alongside actors like Kristen Schaal and January Jones.

Artus, a prominent French stand-up comedian, is set to take on the lead role in this remake. Known for his comedic talents, he previously stepped into the director’s chair with his feature film debut, “A Little Something Extra.” This new adaptation of “The Last Man on Earth” promises to bring a fresh perspective to the familiar story, making it a series to look out for on Disney+.
