Disney approves third Phineas and Ferb movie for Disney+ and Disney Channel

Disney has officially given the go-ahead for a third Phineas and Ferb movie, which is set to premiere on Disney+ and the Disney Channel. The movie is expected to start production later this year, featuring a storyline that involves a time-travel adventure where the brothers’ very existence is at risk.

In this new film, Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest experiment in time-travel results in the erasure of the moment when Phineas’ mom meets Ferb’s dad, which ultimately means the boys never become brothers. As reality begins to unravel, Phineas and Ferb must work to restore the timeline before it’s too late.

Fans will be excited to know that series co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh are returning as writers and executive producers for the movie. Alongside them are writers Kate Kondell and Jeff Howard, director Bob Bowen, and producer Brandi Young. The original voice cast will also return, including Vincent Martella as Phineas, David Errigo Jr. as Ferb, Ashley Tisdale as Candace, and more.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, expressed excitement about the movie and how it will expand on the imaginative and humorous world of Phineas and Ferb. The creators aim to explore bold and sentimental storytelling while maintaining the series’ trademark humor.

This news follows the recent revival of the show, including a 40-episode pickup in 2023, and its streaming success on Disney+, with episodes viewed for nearly 600 million minutes. Disney also launched a new series of shorts titled Agent P Under C, featuring Perry the Platypus on an undercover mission.

Phineas and Ferb has been one of Disney Television Animation’s most successful franchises, with multiple awards and global streaming content. The third movie promises to continue the legacy of the beloved series and its iconic characters.
