A24 and HBO Max renew movie deal

A24 and HBO Max have extended their partnership with a multi-year renewal of their Pay-1 distribution deal. This agreement ensures that A24’s films will premiere on HBO Max for streaming after their theatrical and PVOD releases.

As part of this deal, HBO Max subscribers will have access to a variety of A24 films, making HBO Max the go-to streaming platform for many of A24’s movies. Exciting upcoming titles like “Marty Supreme,” “The Backrooms,” “The Drama,” “The Death of Robin Hood,” “How to Make a Killing,” “Enemies,” “Primetime,” and “The Moment” will launch on HBO Max.

Historically, A24’s films have performed well on HBO Max, with half of A24’s SVOD titles ranking among HBO Max’s Top 10 movies within their first two weeks on the platform. Impressively, almost 70% of HBO Max viewers who watched an A24 film came back for more, enjoying an average of 4 titles.

This renewal follows similar distribution partnerships between other film studios and streaming services like Focus Features with Peacock, Searchlight with Hulu, and Sony Pictures with Netflix.
