Frankenstein: Battle and Sinners Lead Make-Up and Hair Styling Nominations
The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild has announced its nominations for the 13th annual MUAHS Guild Awards. Films such as “Frankenstein,” “One Battle After Another,” “Sinners,” “Weapons,” and “Wicked: For Good” lead the pack with three nominations each for makeup, prosthetics, and hair styling.
These films are no strangers to recognition, having recently made the Academy’s shortlist in the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category. Other notable contenders that made the Oscars shortlist and also received MUAHS nominations include “Marty Supreme” and “The Smashing Machine.”
In the television categories, series like “Monster: The Ed Gein Story,” “Stranger Things,” and “Wednesday” have landed three nominations each. Additionally, popular shows like “Abbott Elementary,” “Emily in Paris,” and “The Studio” have also garnered multiple nods.
Beyond film and television, the MUAHS Awards honor talent in children’s television, commercials, music videos, and theatrical productions. This year’s honorary awards will be presented to industry veterans Greg Nelson, Judy Alexander Cory, and Michael Johnston.
For nearly 25 years, the MUAHS Guild Awards have been a stepping stone for many nominees who go on to earn Oscar nominations. The upcoming MUAHS Awards ceremony is slated for February 14, 2026, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
It’s exciting to see the artistry and talent in the world of makeup and hair styling receive the recognition they deserve. Stay tuned for more updates as the awards season approaches!
