Percy Jackson TV Show Season 3 Teased by Walker Scobell

Remember the excitement earlier this year when Disney renewed its Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series for a third season before season two even aired? That decision helps to avoid those frustratingly long breaks between seasons that can drive fans crazy. It’s especially important for a show like this with a younger cast who might outgrow their roles quickly, as we’ve seen happen with other series like Stranger Things.

Great news though – production for season three, based on The Titan’s Curse, is well underway. Walker Scobell, who plays the lead in the series, recently shared in an interview that they’re a little over halfway done filming. He’s super pumped about what they’ve shot so far, particularly highlighting the first two episodes as his favorites to date.

What’s cool about this upcoming season is that it will explore new territory since only the first two books were adapted for the big screen before. Author Rick Riordan even promised that fan-favorite characters like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo will come to life for the first time on screen. If all goes well, Disney may even adapt the final two books in the series, The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian.

One interesting aspect of the series is the developing romance between Percy Jackson’s character and Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena. Walker Scobell admitted that it’s a bit awkward to think about, especially at just 13 years old. But, he found comfort in the fact that the young cast was able to look to the actors from Stranger Things for guidance on how to navigate on-screen relationships and romantic storylines.

New episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians drop on Disney+ every Wednesday, so make sure to catch up if you haven’t already!
