HBO Max European Launch Coming Soon: Disney+, Apple TV, and Prime Video Prepare

HBO Max, home to popular shows like Game of Thrones and The Sopranos, is finally expanding to Europe. The big news is that the streaming service will be available in Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein starting on 13 January 2026. That’s sooner than we thought!

For our friends in the UK and Ireland, don’t worry, you won’t have to wait too long. HBO Max will be available in your region in March. If you’re a Sky TV customer, you’ll be happy to know that you can continue watching HBO content as part of your subscription even after HBO Max launches. And even better, other TV platforms will also be able to offer similar incentives to their customers.

It’s been said that the sale of Warner Bros. Discovery will affect the launch plans for HBO Max. With Friends leaving Netflix UK and possibly heading over to HBO Max, it’s an exciting time for streaming fans. Even though Netflix is currently leading the bidding battle for Warner Bros. Discovery, the outcome of the acquisition will definitely impact the future of HBO Max.

So mark your calendars for January 13th for the European launch of HBO Max, and get ready to enjoy all your favorite HBO shows on a whole new platform!
