Disney+ Reveals New Actor for Marvel’s Hawkeye Series

Disney+ has introduced a new face to the Marvel universe, adding to the list of actors who have portrayed Hawkeye across various projects. Hawkeye, a character known for his unique blend of heroism and vigilante justice, has become a key figure in the Marvel universe, particularly with his appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, his impact extends beyond the MCU, as evidenced by the latest Disney+ exclusive project featuring yet another actor stepping into the role.

Voice actor Troy Baker, recognized for his recent work on HBO’s “The Last of Us,” is now the fourth actor to take on the role of Hawkeye in the Marvel universe. Baker, with a repertoire of Marvel voiceover roles including Loki, Kraven the Hunter, and the Red Guardian, now adds Hawkeye to his list of characters. In the newly released LEGO Avengers: Strange Tails, available on Disney+, Hawkeye, played by Baker, teams up with the Avengers to thwart a social media influencer’s threat of global devastation.

Jeremy Renner, who debuted as Hawkeye in the MCU in 2011’s “Thor,” has continued to embody the character. Renner has not only appeared in live-action as Hawkeye but also lent his voice to the animated “What If…?” series and the Marvel Zombies franchise on Disney+. In the Hawkeye Disney+ series, Renner’s Barton emerges from retirement to save Kate Bishop, engaging in a showdown with the Kingpin and the Tracksuit Mafia. Moreover, Renner’s voice work in “What If…?” explores alternative storylines involving Barton and Natasha Romanoff in a post-apocalyptic world.

Hailee Steinfeld entered the MCU in 2021 as Kate Bishop, a character closely intertwined with the Hawkeye legacy. Steinfeld, who also appeared briefly in “The Marvels,” played a significant role in the Hawkeye series and the Marvel Zombies franchise on Disney+. As Kate Bishop, Steinfeld faced off against the Tracksuit Mafia and contended with her mother’s connections to the Kingpin. In “What If…?,” Steinfeld’s Kate avenged her parents’ murder in an alternate cowboy-inspired storyline. Meanwhile, child actor Nick A. Fisher made his debut as a fresh face portraying Hawkeye in the Disney+ series “Iron Man and His Awesome Friends,” showcasing his archery skills alongside Iron Man and other heroes in a mission against Absorbing Man.

Disney+ continues to expand the Marvel universe by introducing various actors who bring their own interpretations and talents to the iconic character of Hawkeye, ensuring that fans can enjoy a diverse and dynamic portrayal of this beloved superhero.
