Tving teams up with Disney+ for Korea’s first 3-way streaming bundle
Disney+ has teamed up with Korean streamer Tving to offer a new bundle deal that includes access to Tving, Disney+, and Wavve all in one subscription. This marks the first time a Korean platform has collaborated with a global streamer in the domestic market.
The bundle comes in two options: 3 Pack, which gives you access to all three services for 21,500 won per month, and Double (Disney+), which pairs Tving with Disney+ for 18,000 won per month. These plans offer up to 37 percent in savings compared to subscribing to each service separately.
Tving and Wavve have been working towards a merger since 2023 and recently received conditional approval from Korea’s Fair Trade Commission. Although Wavve content is not yet integrated into Tving, there are six joint bundle options available that provide access to both services.
The goal of this collaboration is to strengthen the domestic streaming sector and offer a wider range of content at a more affordable price. This includes K-dramas, variety shows, news, sports, and popular Disney, Pixar, and Marvel titles.
In addition to this, Tving and Disney+ previously announced a partnership in November, which led to the launch of a Tving Collection hub on Disney+ Japan. This marked Tving’s entry into the Japanese market and the first time Disney+ created a dedicated Korean streamer hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
Tony Zameczkowski, senior vice president and general manager at The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific, expressed excitement about this collaboration, calling it a bold move in the Korean market and a key part of their APAC strategy. He also highlighted the opportunity to share exceptional Korean content with international audiences through this partnership.
According to data from Mobile Index, Netflix leads the Korean streaming market with 14 million monthly active users, followed by Tving with 7.5 million, Coupang Play with 7.2 million, Wavve with 4.3 million, and Disney+ with 2.7 million. Monthly active users are essential for online platforms to track user engagement over a 30-day period.
