MTV cancels popular show after 46 seasons
After a 14-year run, the popular MTV series “Ridiculousness” is coming to an end with its 46th and final season. According to Variety, the comedy clip show won’t be producing any new episodes going forward, but fear not – MTV plans to continue airing the existing seasons and will also make some available on Paramount+ for fans to enjoy.
The show, which featured hosts like comedian Steelo Brim, Chanel West Coast, and Lauren “Lolo” Wood, has been a staple in MTV’s lineup with a whopping 1,700 episodes filled with viral videos showcasing fails, shenanigans, and comedic commentary. While it’s uncertain how long reruns will be on air, fans can still catch their favorite moments.
Interestingly, the cancellation news came just a day before reports surfaced about host Rob Dyrdek’s impressive salary. The former professional skateboarder reportedly rakes in a hefty $32.5 million annually, including bonuses and per-episode fees, for his role as the host and executive producer of the show.
So, as we bid farewell to “Ridiculousness” after its long and entertaining run, fans can reminisce about their favorite moments and look forward to watching past seasons on Paramount+ to relive the laughter and absurdity that made the show so beloved. And who knows, maybe we’ll see some reunion specials in the future to keep the fun going!
